Poem - A Silent Symphony

 A Silent Symphony

27.Jan.04

I hear soft snow falling

slipping softly silently

yet building to a crescendo

at the edge of my awareness

I strain to hear the snow song

as air deflected by the flakes

makes whispers of quiet pleasure

caressed by the marvellous matrix

flocks loop and roll in waves of sound

vertical and horizontal snow

that gathers to the ground

and now to drift over hedge and home

seeking a perfect partner

all in a masterful mating game

armies of snowflakes dance and dazzle

then join in harmony

and float ….to earth

look…

their beauty is the land

softened by their silent symphony
